The site benefits from outline planning permission granted in 2011 which established the principle for a mixed use development including access. Amendments to the uses in the existing permission were approved in an S73 application in 2015, which increased the portion of residential accommodation being provided on site.
After acquiring the site in 2015, London Square brought forward a Reserved Matters application which was approved in June 2016 that established the appearance, landscaping, layout and scale of the development.
London Square is committed to the delivery of this exciting mixed use development and we are pleased with our progress since beginning work on-site late last year. However, following a recent review of the site and the local area, we have concluded that since permission was granted the demand for the office space has decreased whilst there is still a strong demand for new homes in the area.
London Square are therefore bringing forward proposals for Phase B which relates to the western half of the site. The plans seek to replace the office provision with high-quality new homes, ground floor commercial space and landscaped additions to the public realm.
